Delicious and nostalgic M&M cookie bars that are easy to make and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup M&M candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then blend this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in the M&M candies gently with a spatula.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Cool in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely, then cut into bars.

Notes

For thicker bars, refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes before spreading it into the pan. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
