A delightful bread infused with apples and cinnamon, perfect for sharing and ideal for any time of the day.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the diced apples and chopped nuts, if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Enjoy warm with butter or as a dessert with vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze individual slices for up to 2 months.
